How to clear cookies and history in your web browser?

Today we are going to show you how you can clear cookies, caches and history on various popularly used web browsers.

But wait a minute, what are cookies really?

Cookies are small files that websites put on your PC to store info about your preferences. They can improve your browsing experience by allowing sites to remember your preferences or by letting you avoid signing in each time you visit certain sites.

Clearing cookies and browser cache can fixes certain problems, like loading or formatting issues on sites. Now that we know what they really are, let’s dive into the steps to get rid of them in the top three widely used browsers.

Let’s start with See the source image GOOGLE CHROME:

Steps to clear cache and cookies in Chrome:

  1. Launch Google Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More .
  3. Click “More tools” > Clear browsing data...
  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select “All time.
  5. Next to “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files, check the boxes.
  6. Click “Clear data.

Steps to clear history in Chrome:

  1. Launch Google Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More.
  3. Click “History” > History.
  4. On the left, click Clear browsing data.
  5. From the drop-down menu, select how much history you want to delete. To clear everything, select “All time.”
  6. Next to Browsing History check the boxes. Learn more about the types of browsing data that you can delete
  7. Click “Clear data.

Steps to clear cache and cookies in Firefox:

  1. Click the menu button and select Options.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Cookies and Site Data section.
  3. Click the Clear Data… button. The Clear Data dialog will appear.
  4. Click Clear.

Steps to clear history in Firefox:

  1. Click the menu button and select Options.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the scroll down to see History.
  3. Press Clear History.
  4. Ensure Browsing & Download History is checked.
  5. Choose the time range and press OK.

Steps clear cache and cookies in Safari:

  1. Click on Safari (at top left corner of browser) in the menu bar. Click on Preferences.
  2. Select the Privacy tab.
  3. Click on Manage Website Data.
  4. Select Remove All and click on Remove now in the popup.
  5. Check in Advanced tab, if Show Develop menu in menu bar is selected. If not, Check the box.
  6. Select Develop in the menu bar on the top of the screen and click Empty Caches to clear Cache.

Steps to delete history in Safari:

  1. Launch Safari.
  2. Click the History tab in the top menu.
  3. Select “Clear History…
  4. Choose the time range that you wish to clear.
  5. Click “Clear History.” Done.
